About Us
Southern Companions is a locally owned company started by an experienced nurse, Tara Jernigan (BSRN, ACLS, PALS) who has over 18 years of experience in critical care and nursing supervision. She has also taught in the nursing programs at Brenau University and North Georgia College. She is joined by two Gainesville businessmen, Tim Taylor and Allen Jernigan, who have over 40 years combined experience in the financial industry. Together the team sees a need for home companion services that will improve the quality of life for the elderly and disabled.
Through the many years of experience that the team has within those aspects, Southern Companions was established in 2009. The team developed a strong base of caregivers that they believed to be exceptional and have continue to recruit and employ these compassionate individuals to offer the utmost care to each and every client with their specific needs being met.
Southern Companions has set up streamlined processes for each caregiver and each client intake to ensure that the clients and caregivers will have a pleasurable and easy transition.
Southern Companions takes pride in their client and caregiver base and assures that each and every challenge shall be handled immediately and with 100% attention and dedication!
